Subcontractor payments, without the spreadsheet chase.

Every subcontractor sends a different spreadsheet, checking them takes days, and under the Construction Act a payment notice or pay less notice issued late can leave you owing the sum applied for. Constructicore puts every application, assessment and notice on the package, on time and on the record.

  • One format from every subcontractor. Applications arrive against the package's contract sum analysis, so you compare like with like.
  • Deadlines from your side. Payment notice, pay less and final dates for every package, with bank holidays left out as the Act requires.
  • Evidence as you go. Every notice is timestamped, emailed to the subcontractor and fingerprinted, with the PDF kept exactly as issued.
  • Compliance before payment. See whether the signed subcontract and insurances are in place before you certify.
How it works

From package set-up to payment, in four steps.

The same valuation engine sits on both sides, so your assessment and the subcontractor's application always add up the same way.

  1. Set up the package

Enter the package sum, retention, discount, payment terms and contract sum analysis, pasted from Excel. Or let the subcontractor propose it, and you approve and lock it.

  2. Invite the subcontractor

They get an email link, with reminders if it is not accepted, and the package is set up in their account ready to apply. Already on Constructicore? It links to their existing account.

  3. Assess the application

Go line by line: agree, reduce with a reason, or add a contra charge. Applications waiting for a notice are listed with the soonest deadline first.

  4. Issue the notice and pay

The payment notice or pay less notice is produced from your assessment on your letterhead and emailed to the subcontractor. Record the payment and export the payment schedule for your finance team.

Built in

Everything around the application, on the same package.

Compliance stage

Choose the documents each package needs, such as the signed subcontract and insurance certificates. The subcontractor uploads them, expiry dates are tracked, and you see the status before certifying.

Variations and CSA changes

Package variations and changes to the contract sum analysis are proposed through the package and agreed by both sides, so the next application already reflects them.

Early warnings, events and RFIs

Early warnings, relevant and compensation events and RFIs raised by the subcontractor appear on the package, with your responses recorded against each one.

Certify early

Happy with an application before the due date? Certify it early, and the notice follows on the date your terms set.

Reports and exports

Liabilities by package, applied against certified, retention held and what is still to pay, plus a payment schedule as CSV for your finance system.

Messages with a record

Questions about an application are kept on the package, so the conversation sits next to the figures rather than in separate inboxes.

Coming next

More of the job, on the same packages and people.

Constructicore grew out of the system we use to run our own contracting business. These are the tools main contractors ask us for next; tell us which you need and they will be built with you.

Your supply chain

Bring your subcontractors with you.

Subcontractors already on Constructicore link your package to their account. New ones join from your invitation with a free trial, and the package is set up for them, ready to apply.

  • No new spreadsheet to learn. Their application is built from the contract sum analysis you agreed.
  • Fewer queries. They see your assessment line by line, with the reason for every reduction.
  • Want to cover their access? You can pay for your subcontractors to use your packages free, as an option on your plan.

Tell us what you need next

Choose the tool you want most. We will invite you to try it first, and your feedback shapes how it is built.

We use your email only to tell you about Constructicore modules. See our privacy notice.

Questions

Main contractor questions

Do our subcontractors have to pay?

Subcontractors you invite start with a free trial, then choose a plan to keep submitting applications; they can always view and export what is there. If you would rather they paid nothing for your packages, you can cover their access as an option on your plan.

What if a subcontractor already uses Constructicore?

They accept your invitation from their existing account, and your package links to the subcontract on their side. Applications and notices then pass between the two accounts automatically.

Can we keep our own subcontract terms?

Yes. Each package has its own payment terms: JCT, amended DOM terms, bespoke terms, or the Scheme for Construction Contracts where the contract falls short. Dates are worked out from those terms and each one shows how it was reached.

Is the main contractor side available now?

Yes. Subcontractor payments, compliance documents and change events are available now, with guided onboarding: we set up your first project and packages with you and stay close through the first payment cycles. Site clocking in, health and safety statistics and site records are on the roadmap.

Does Constructicore give legal advice?

No. It records your terms, works out dates from them and produces notices from your assessment. Check notice wording against your subcontract, and take advice from a construction solicitor on any dispute.
